FLANGE FIT
You wouldn’t wear the wrong size shoe to exercise, but you may be wearing the wrong size flange..
A properly fitted breast pump flange is essential for effective and comfortable milk expression, and research highlights its critical role in lactation outcomes.
The average nipple diameter is 13mm however the standard flange size that comes with your breast pump is 24mm.
Why is it important to have a properly fitted flange?
Nipple protection and Comfort
Efficiency
Optimal milk Yield
Prevention of inflammation which can result in clogged milk ducts & mastitis
Enhanced pumping experience
We believe the best time to get fitted is when you plan to start pumping. At Women in Motion we will measure for an estimate size and watch you pump in clinic with up to 3 sizes to ensure the optimal fit! Just like your feet may be slightly different your nipple sizes may not be the same, and we will ensure you leave with your perfect fit!

We always recommend a full visit with our IBCLC to clinically diagnose the cause of your breast pain and address any underlying issues, but these services can also be booked separately without an IBCLC consultation.
Please be specific in booking as Flange fittings are 30 minute non diagnostic appointments that can be done by our PT, OT or nurse IBCLC team vs our lactation consultations are only done by our IBCLC team.
